About Us – A Story Spanning More Than Six Decades in the Rug Trade

FRUD GmbH and its owner, Freidun Frud, have stood for experience, expertise and a passion for high-quality Oriental and Persian rugs for more than six decades.

For many years, our rug store was located in Oberursel. Generations of customers visited us there and came to value our personal service and extensive selection of hand-knotted rugs.

A New Beginning in Butzbach

When the building housing our long-established store in Oberursel was scheduled for demolition, we had to leave the location that had been our home for so many years. In 2026, we therefore opened our new rug store in Butzbach. It was intended to mark the beginning of a new chapter in our company's history.

However, personal circumstances can sometimes change more quickly than expected. His wife's illness this year, together with his own advanced age, confronted Freidun Frud with a difficult decision.

Mit 92 Jahren At the age of 92, and with no successor to continue the business, he is no longer able to run the newly opened store in Butzbach on a permanent basis. After more than six decades in the rug trade, he has therefore made the difficult decision to retire and close the business.

Business Closure and Complete Closing-Down Sale

As part of the business closure, FRUD GmbH is now selling its extensive remaining inventory. More than 1,200 Oriental and Persian rugs in a wide variety of sizes, qualities, designs and price ranges are available for sale.

We hope to sell our entire remaining rug inventory by the end of the year, allowing us to bring this chapter to a close as the new year begins. With attractive clearance prices, we would like to give both private customers and trade buyers the opportunity to acquire distinctive individual pieces from our long-established collection.
